The organization's programs focus on conserving wildlife, restoring habitat and waterways, expanding outdoor opportunities, connecting children with nature, and addressing the causes and consequences of climate change. To support our mission, we are seeking a Web Content and SEO Strategist who will work with a cross-functional core team and stakeholders. This role reports to the User Experience Designer in the Strategic Business Operations department, working collaboratively with the Content Team and the Digital Engagement Team.

In this role you will:

    • Work collaboratively across all digital strategy and content teams to select and implement a new enterprise Search platform
    • Work collaboratively to develop a new Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy for the National Wildlife Federations national sites and new e-commerce web spaces.
    • Work collaboratively to select and implement enterprise ad publishing and tracking software
    • Perform ongoing keyword research including discovery and expansion of keyword opportunities
    • Research and implement content recommendations for organic SEO success
    • Collaborate with program teams to find ad solutions and navigate successful product and web launches
    • Create and distribute reports regarding content and SEO successes
    • Manage requirements, tasks, and deliverables with the Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
    • Work on special projects as commissioned by the Director of Digital Engagement to grow our digital donor base and our active conservation army


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, information systems, a related field or equivalent demonstrated knowledge and skills
  • 3+ years of related professional experience
  • Proven SEO / SEM experience
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Strong analytical skills and technical capabilities
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations on related subject expertise including testing and content outcomes, and comparative analysis on related tools and platforms being considered for acquisition
  • A communication style that is approachable and that accommodates various audiences and their level of knowledge with this role's area of expertise
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player
  • An innate curiosity about all areas of their company's mission and goals
  • Flexibility, determination, and a sense of humor

Technical Requirements:

  • Experience with large enterprise-level Content Management Systems, Sitecore CMS a plus.
  • In-depth experience with Google Analytics and other analytics tools, Sitecore Analytics a plus.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
  • The ability to work with back-end SEO elements such as .htaccess, robots.txt, metadata, site speed optimization, and related skills
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office software particularly with Excel's advanced data tools
