Founded in 1936, the National Wildlife Federation has grown into America's largest and most trusted grassroots conservation organization with 51 state/territorial affiliates and more than six million members and supporters, including hunters, anglers, gardeners, birders, hikers, campers, paddlers, etc. The mission of the National Wildlife Federation is to unite all Americans to ensure wildlife thrive in our rapidly changing world. The organization's programs focus on conserving wildlife, restoring habitat and waterways, expanding outdoor opportunities, connecting children with nature, and addressing the causes and consequences of climate change. To support our mission, we seek an intern to join our Strategic Business Operations (SBO) team, in Reston, VA.

This internship is expected to last 39 weeks, and the intern will work three days a week.

 In this role you will:

  • Work across the organization through the Data Strategy team's leadership to support development of greater internal understanding and capacities for new approaches to constituent acquisition
  • Provide social media data mining, analysis and reporting for advocacy marketing campaigns designed to deliver on the National Wildlife Federation's strategic plan conservation army growth targets
  • Conduct market research for new potential lines of business and products that support the National Wildlife Federation's unrestricted revenue targets
  • Support Data Strategy deliverables as directed for strategic plan KPI development and reporting  


  • High school diploma/equivalent
  • Pursuing BA/BS
  • Strong familiarity with social platforms; experience with social business marketing tools a plus
  • Experience with analyzing and presenting data
  • Experience with Excel and relational databases
  • Good written communication
