To support our mission, we seek a Wildlife Funding Campaign Coordinator to join our team in our National Advocacy Center (NAC) in Washington, DC.

This position is expected to last two years, but may be extended.

The Coordinator will work across teams to help enact successful campaigns and strategies to meet NWF's priority advocacy goals as it relates to the Recovering America's Wildlife Act. This act will work to increase public funding to reduce the dramatic U.S. decline that habitat loss, invasive species, and severe weather have all taken on mammals, fish, amphibians, reptiles, butterflies, and bees. In this role you will:

  • Work closely with the campaign directorate and organization colleagues on a range of actions that will support overall campaign success.
  • Develop external and internal communication, education and advocacy-focused resources and materials, with input from content experts, including memos, talking points, reports, and factsheets.
  • Develop and publish content for websites and blogs, or other shareable content, and coordinate content updates on the team's website.
  • Generate social media content and work in collaboration with online and campaigns teams to assist in the creation of social media graphics, and blogs related to our campaign priorities.
  • Provide logistical support in organizing meetings and other events including arranging travel; coordinating events; organizing fly-ins; expense reimbursement, data basing petitions or postcards; distributing materials to the field team.
  • Engage with the NWF affiliates and regional staff on an ongoing basis to support their efforts on Wildlife Funding, check-in with NWF state affiliates on a regularly scheduled basis and send meeting and report reminders using QuickBase.
  • Engage with other constituents and send materials and resources as requested.
  • Set up and participate in the logistics surrounding regional meetings to engage NWF regional staff on the Wildlife Funding campaign.
  • Schedule meetings with stakeholders and take detailed notes during calls and meetings, identify action items, discuss with internal team members, and disseminate notes to participants.
  • General administrative tasks related to the campaign, supporting effective execution of deliverables, and supporting NAC office functions, including assisting with project activities, maintaining files, correspondence and contact databases, phone/communications, contracts and partner agreements, travel and other logistics, expense reporting, and internal coordination.

Formal Education and/or Special Training Required:

  • BA or BS with strong course work or work experience in public policy, political science, conservation, or grassroots campaigns. Background in wildlife conservation/natural resources helpful.
  • Minimum of two years campaign or advocacy experience
  • Experience helping prepare communications and/or educational documents, including factsheets and reports for general audiences and/or policy-makers.
  • Experience using social media tools, online organizing 
  • Excellent organizational, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work on a team and also follow through on assigned tasks independently
  • Good multi-tasking and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines; ability to meet unanticipated needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • HTML, Photoshop, and/or Web Content Management experience a plus!

This position is based in Washington DC. There may be some minimal travel to other locations in this role.
