To support our mission, we seek a Database Analyst to join our team. 

This position is responsible for the day to day operation of the National Wildlife Federation's mission-critical CRM database. The CRM system and related processes are the engine that facilitates our interactions with our amazing supporter base of millions of donors and activists. This role is core to the operation of the CRM and responsibilities include: translating business requirements into functional design, monitoring and resolving CRM helpdesk tickets, investigating data integrity issues in CRM and integrated databases, as well as researching system updates and performing upgrade testing. This role would also be responsible for advising users on system best practices and delivering end user training. The person fulfilling this role is expected to be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively on tasks and projects assigned. This role will report to the CRM Manager.

In this role you will:

  • Work with key stakeholders to document requirements and determine how to accommodate either by utilizing existing functionality or creating customizations in the database
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for CRM help requests to troubleshoot issues and escalate high importance/priority tickets to the CRM Manager
  • Create a comprehensive CRM training plan for general users, plus customized training plans for specific business lines as needed
  • Deliver CRM user training and document system best practices and procedures to post on the CRM User Help Portal. Work in conjunction with the CRM Manager to develop and deploy recorded trainings.
  • Work proactively with the CRM Manager and Database Specialist to develop audit queries/reports to find and resolve data integrity issues
  • Create custom queries, reports and dashboards for tracking key performance indicators
  • Build complex queries and exports in CRM for mailing lists and invitations
  • Research CRM upgrades and troubleshoot, test and document data issues/bugs/upgrade enhancements
  • Research and perform cost analysis for functionality add-ons that could be integrated into CRM
  • Perform gap analysis on existing processes and functionality
  • Collaborate with the Database Specialist to create and manage documentation on CRM User Help Portal


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent demonstrated knowledge and skills
  • 2+ year experience with and significant understanding of complex relational databases
  • 1+ year experience performing data analysis and building queries/reports
  • Competence with MS Office, advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables and Power Pivot a plus)

 Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM
  • Experience with Blackbaud Luminate Online
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with customer service or help desk
